📙 Submitting a paper exam

When the participant has finished writing or when the exam time is up, the answers must be submitted. An exam invigilator checks the participant's identity again when submitting test answers/examinations on paper (this is generally not done during digital exams).

Keep in mind that the same applies even if a participant submits a blank answer sheet, having written nothing. That is also often counted as a complete exam.

Be aware that the participants are not allowed to bring notes on paper out of the room. The Chief Invigilator and exam invigilator(s) decide whether the written paper notes should be submitted along with the exam or remain on the tables - preferably according to instructions from the examiner or the education provider.

📙 Submitting a digital exam

Before the participants leave the premises, they must submit their exam answers in the digital examination system and then log out of both the browser, possibly also a special secure browser (e.g. Safe exam browser, SEB) and from the computer. To be safe, exam invigilators check that all computers are logged out before leaving the room.

Participants should leave their written paper notes at their seats, but must sometimes remember to bring their code paper. If they have written notes on the code papers, they may not take them out, but instead copy the code onto a blank piece of paper or on their phone.

Submit and log out

Participants follow the steps instructed at the start of the exam or on the last page of the exam - when they submit their digital exam and log out. The last page of the examination (should) generally contain adequate instructions, but you may still need to help them.

Remember:
3
important things students should do after submitting their exam:

• Log out
Leave behind their written paper notes
Bring their code papers (if any)

📙 Handling documents after an exam

When the exam ends, it’s important that all papers/documentation end up in the right place.

Written notes - Participants are not allowed to bring written paper notes from the room and their seats. It’s the examiner's decision how written notes should be handled after the examination.

Login codes to digital system solution - Participants might need to take the paper with special login codes with them so that they can retrieve the results from exam results later. Should any participant have used that paper to write notes on, they may copy the codes onto a blank piece of paper. Leftover login codes can be discarded.

The participants' test answers - The examiner takes care of the paper exams and test answers. Digital exams are handled in the system for further assessment and result management.

Lists for ID checks, etc. - The examiner should receive the lists with ID checks and bathroom visits.

Documentation regarding suspected cheating - The examiner should receive all documentation from the examination, reports of suspected cheating, disruptive behaviour, etc.

📙 Lost and found

If you find things left behind after the exam, you can leave them at the intended location at the test center or to the education provider, where participants can pick up their things.
